Ocean Trout
Wild Isles Ocean Trout Farms, Scotland Isles, U.K.
Wild Isles Scottish Sea trout begins its life cycle on land in “zero waste”closed containment recirculating tanks. Only the most pristine Scottish spring water is used to ensure the upmost quality & health of the fish. Once the trout reach maturity, they are then introduced into salt water, thus making them a true sea trout.
Location of these ocean farms are key for not only sustainability, but the overall health of the trout & environment. That’s why our sea trout farms are located in the open sea off the northwest Isles of Scotland, where the powerful currents of the North Atlantic are constantly surging nutrient rich water through the farms. Open sea sites allow the trout to naturally swim against the powerful currents, like wild sea trout, developing the strongest & healthiest. These powerful currents not only create stronger & healthier fish, but also help keep a clean sea bed, and are key to our sustainable aquaculture methods.
SUSTAINABILITY
Low stocking densities & powerful currents maintain a clean sea bed and environment. Sustainable aquaculture practices, Antibiotic & Hormone Free.
Powerful open ocean currents surging clean water through the sites constantly.
Farm sites are rotated & lay fallow up to 24 months to ensure a clean seabed before next cycle. 3rd party audits: sustainability, husbandry, water quality, environmental impact.

Ever tried it? This is a great fish that is perfect for grilling or baking. The ferocious-looking wolfish gets its name from the sharp, protruding teeth it uses to feast on lobsters, clams and other shellfish. Found from southern New England to Greenland and the Barents Sea, the bottom dwelling cold water creature is primarily a bycatch of trawl fisheries targeting cod, haddock and other ground fish. Iceland, which has a direct fishery for the species, is the largest producer.
The trout supply seems to be stable. The variety of the cuts and sizes of this fish never cease to amaze me. There are many options to meet your menu specifications.
The All Natural Ocean Trout (Steelhead) is an amazing sashimi quality ocean trout with a higher fat content then salmon and a great flavor that lends itself to any type of cooking or smoking.
