Catfish

Catfish are known as one of the most quality-controlled products in the food industry. They are grain-fed in order to produce standard, soft-textured, mild-tasting meat. They are available year-round so therefore perfect for any menu. Catfish are characterized by a deeply forked tail and spotted sides; this species has eight barbels and black-tipped fins. Cooked meat is ivory colored.

Production levels continue to look good. Prices are holding steady.  We expect to see graded sizes available after the Easter holiday.

Halibut

East Coast Halibut availability is looking good with prices coming down.  We have new product arriving this week.  Don’t forget Alaskan Halibut Season starts on March 19th.

Mahi
Mahi prices are starting to come back down since they peaked at an overall high the last few weeks. Availability has improved, and we have fresh product arriving this week.

New fish just in from Galveston, TX. Whole fish ranging in size from 1-2, 2-4, and 4-8.

We have Fresh Crabmeat out of Mexico & Venezuela this week, which is available with good prices. Fresh Crab fingers are limited; they have been too small pack.  Call your sales rep today to place an order.

Currently Littleneck Clams and Mussels are in good supply. Razor clams will be available for pre-orders starting next week.

Icelandic Cod 
Availability is looking good this week. We have shipments arriving twice a week.

Arctic Char is a unique strain of saltwater char sustainably farm-raised in Iceland. Often compared to salmon and trout, Arctic Char has a distinct, sweet buttery flavor and firm pink flesh that sets it apart from other fish on the market.

We have a great selection of oysters this week. Pemaquid Oysters will be available in the next few weeks.  Make sure you are on our East Coast oyster list that we send out every week.

Gulf sack prices are holding steady with a good supply. We are also seeing a good supply of gallons with most of our oysters coming out of Texas.

The availability on jumbo sized redfish (2.5-3lb) continues to be limited   Extra Jumbo (3lb and up) are in decent supply and will be more available than the smaller sizes. Striped Bass is a great option this time of year as well.

Chilean Salmon prices are up do to the algae bloom that has caused large fatalities at the farms in Chile.  Prices are up with more increases expected.  Due to limited salmon in the market, this has caused Canadian Salmon fillet to also increase. North Sea salmon prices are still up with availability improving.

This E.U Certified Organic salmon is unlike any other farm raised salmon where it is raised in the open ocean of the Shetland Islands, and not in a Loch or Bay like other farms raised salmons. Its certified sustainable aquaculture methods are free from all antibiotics, hormones, & GMO, and its feed is certified organic and uses no synthetic coloring or pigments added.

U10 Dry Scallop prices are up just a little. We expect decent supplies for the coming weeks.

Tuna availability is looking very good, with prices holding steady. We will have great 2+ and #1 fish arriving this week.

Weather has improved in Hackberry; We have new shipments arriving this week.

We have a variety of seabass sizing options.  We continue to carry H&G 20-30 kg as well as a smaller 10-20 kg if that is more of what you’re looking for. Prices are continuing to move up.

Swordfish availability has improved and prices are down. We have new product arriving from Costa Rica for the weekend.

The larger sizes of the Ruby Trout are more available than they have been.  For the next few months 8-10 oz and 10-12 oz  Ruby will be available, but limited.

The rainbow trout supply seems to be stable.  The variety of the cuts and sizes of this fish never cease to amaze me.  There are many options to meet your menu specifications.
